$50,000 for 50 Years Campaign
On Sept. 12, 2019, Prairie Striders Running Club will mark 50 years of promoting and
supporting running in the Brookings region and beyond. To mark this historic milestone, we are embarking on a $50,000 for 50 Years campaign to fund two SDSU scholarships.
The fund currently stands at $33,000, well on our way to the $50,000 goal, but we
need your help. We are asking Prairie Striders members and Jackrabbit running alumni to support future generations of student-athletes with a financial gift to the $50,000 for 50 Years campaign.
Hitting this goal will allow us to fully endow a memorial scholarship initiated in 2013 for the late Phil LaVallee as well as continue to fund the Prairie Striders Scholarship, both administered by the SDSU Foundation.
We are honored to have two co-chairs joining us for the campaign — Jay Dirksen, who founded Prairie Striders and coached the Jackrabbits from 1969 to 1977, and Vicki (Coyle) Nelson, who ran for the Jackrabbits from 1978 to 1982 and whose son Lukas now competes for Coach DeHaven’s team at SDSU.
Download the pledge card for details on the various giving options. If you having any questions, please feel free to contact us. Prairie Striders is a 501 (3) (c) organization, so your gifts are tax deductible. Thanks in advance for your consideration and for your support of the $50,000 for 50 Years Campaign.
