Beef & Eggs 5K

This race offers a fast, shaded, USATF certified course that starts and finishes near downtown at the Brookings County Courthouse, snakes through downtown and residential Brookings, passes near Pioneer Park and the children’s museum, and goes through Hillcrest Park. The course is well marked with very light traffic.

Entry fee includes a T-shirt, entry for door prizes, age group medals to the top three, and of course our complete Beef and Eggs breakfast served immediately after the race! Run for Beef & Eggs offers over $1,200 in cash prizes for the top three males and females in hopes of bringing the best competition from around the area.

The race also encourages novice runners and walkers to come out and enjoy the morning while getting fit!

Beef and Eggs 5k also doubles as the USATF Dakota's Association 5k Road Race Championships. If you are a USATF Dakota's member, make sure to register as such to enter yourself into the Dakota's Championship, where you will be eligible for an additional award (top 3 open and top 3 masters men and women). USA Track & Field Dakotas is the local governing body for long distance running, track & field, cross country and race walking in North and South Dakota and provides youth in particular great opportunities to enter the sport. 8:00AM

FREE KIDS FUN RUN:
9:00AM (12 and under) No registration required will take place shortly after the 5k is completed.

OPTIONAL PACKET PICK-UP:
Will take place at Jackrabbit Central (416 Main Ave.) in Brookings from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, July 12. You can also register at this time if you haven’t already yet.

RACE DAY REGISTRATION AND PACKET PICK-UP:
Will be located directly in front of the courthouse near the finish line, at 314 6th Ave from 7:00AM-7:30AM. In case of bad weather, we will move one block north of the finish line at the 5th St. Gym. Pre-registration is highly encouraged.

Starting line is located one block East of the finish line/courthouse on 3rd St. NE. Race will run clockwise through downtown Brookings. Runners will then pass near the finish line/courthouse on 4th St.
at mile 1, before continuing East on 5th St. through Hillcrest Park, where they will climb a gradual uphill section, before coasting down the last half mile heading West on 3rd st. to the finish.
